Eyeblaster Debuts 100K Banner

Rich media firm Eyeblaster has added a 100K “polite” banner to its portfolio, taking its formats to seven.

Standard banners typically allow file sizes of 15K to 20K. But Eyeblaster claims it will not affect the loading speed of site pages because of sequential downloading and the New York firm's proprietary file compression.

Like all other formats, the 100K banner allows advanced event tracking and data capture.

Users of this 100K banner include New York Times Digital's nytimes.com and Tribune Co.'s Tribune Media Net, as well as Agency.com's i-traffic and True North Inc. for its clients.

In other upgrades, the firm's enhanced expandable banner now includes support for banners that can expand on the page. It can support multiple expanding tabs and multiple Flash panels, too.

Also, the new iteration of the 300K window ad format allows full support of rich media interstitial-type ad standards, Eyeblaster said.

The company has announced Apple Macintosh support for the interface and bandwidth detection. This means Mac users in design shops can use their own operating system to create, manage and view Eyeblaster ads in preview mode.

Eyeblaster's other formats include the floating ad, full-page overlay, wallpaper ad and commercial break.
