Experian Licenses Yellow Page Data

Experian announced recently that it would license the yellow page data from its national business-to-business database to YellowGiant, a provider of business software.

As the first licensee for Experian's yellow page data, YellowGiant will use the data as part of its software platform, according to a statement by YellowGiant CEO Stephen Compagni Portis.

Experian verifies the data through millions of telephone calls made yearly to businesses on the database. Some of the information included on the database are business name, address and SIC code. Additional data, such as years in business, number of employees and Web addresses, are also available.

Experian's yellow page database contains more than 14 million businesses, with about 200,000 new businesses added each month.
