Experian Launches Name Matching National Security Service

Experian yesterday announced the launch of its Office of Foreign Assets Control Name Matching Service for financial organizations.

The Web-based service is designed to help financial organizations comply with U.S. Treasury Department requirements regarding access to lending and credit granting information.

The service matches loan applicants' names with the Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons. These people have been deemed a threat to national security by the government.

Since the list changes constantly, Experian clients now can easily access the data at no charge as a value-added service, according to the firm.
