Verizon Wireless has named Erwin-Penland Inc., Greenville, SC, as its agency of record for retail marketing in the Southeast.
The country's No. 1 wireless communications provider has charged Erwin-Penland with responsibilities that include interactive marketing, strategic planning and research, and retail advertising in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky and Alabama.
Erwin-Penland previously handled Bell Atlantic Mobile in the Southeast for 11 years. Bell Atlantic Corp. recently merged with GTE Corp. and Vodafone AirTouch to form Verizon Wireless.
The new account makes Erwin-Penland the second-largest marketing firm in South Carolina, according to the agency.
