Epsilon appoints three executives to new positions as part of growth

Marketing services provider Epsilon has appointed three executives to new positions as it continues to grow its operations.

Ron Shevlin and Jared Blank will lead new client solutions marketing teams that report to Epsilon’s chief marketing officer, Michael Della Penna. Doug Garfinkel has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of media and acquisition services within the company’s Interactive Services group.

Mr. Shevlin, formerly an industry analyst with Forrester Research, moves from his current post as vice president of strategic consulting for Dallas-based Epsilon, and Mr. Blank, formerly an industry analyst at Jupiter Research, is a new hire.

“Ron and Jared are skilled professionals at turning data and trends into critical insights that help marketers improve their programs and business processes, Said Mr. Della Penna. “Their unique perspective and ability to ask the right questions in order to yield important insights and opportunities are unsurpassed. We are excited that we can now add their knowledge and experience along with the trust they have built with hundreds of leading marketers to work for us and our clients, and we are thrilled to have them onboard.”

The two executives have more than 30 combined years of experience helping Fortune 500 marketing organizations use prospect and customer insights to acquire, grow and retain long-term, profitable customer relationships.

In their new roles as vice presidents of client solutions within Epsilon’s marketing team, Mr. Shevlin and Mr. Blank will have two major responsibilities. First, they will work with product management to drive ongoing product marketing initiatives around Epsilon’s expanding offering that includes offer development, packaging and field marketing.

Second, they will spearhead Epsilon’s new “Insight Advantage” program. The Insight Advantage program will include the ongoing development of relevant market information and original insights garnered through industry experience and ongoing proprietary research.

Mr. Shevlin and Mr. Blank will share responsibility for developing Insight white papers, research, Webinars, seminars, newsletters, alerts, briefs and other content relevant to their individual areas of expertise.

Mr. Shevlin’s primary focus areas are data, strategic databases, financial services, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods, while Mr. Blank will focus on interactive, agency and direct marketing, retail and travel.

Mr. Garfinkel will lead Epsilon’s search marketing services offering that includes full-service search engine optimization and paid search programs. In addition, he will work with clients and Epsilon’s professional services group to optimize search engine acquisition efforts with integrated data collection and e-mail communications campaigns to maximize program ROI. He will report to Kevin Mabley, senior vice president of interactive professional services.

Mr. Garfinkel joins Epsilon from search and affiliate marketing specialist Hot Rocket Marketing, a subsidiary of Traffix Inc., where he was vice president of search marketing services. His expertise in interactive direct marketing has also guided online strategy at Sports Illustrated, Publishers Clearing House and Bigstar.com, where he managed the launch of the Advaya e-mail service.

He also has previous experience with Epsilon, having helped develop the company’s DREAM e-mail marketing platform and direct its inaugural implementation for a key client.
