E.piphany, San Mateo, CA, said Friday it will now be able to offer hosted e-mail marketing services since it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held E-Class Direct, an application service provider of permission-based e-mail marketing services.
E-Class Direct, Half Monn Bay, CA, will compliment E.piphany’s e-mail marketing product, Emailer, with a scaleable hosted e-mail service offering.
Through the agreement, E.piphany, a provider of customer-focused analytic campaign management and real-time personalization applications, will issue close to 750,000 shares of its common stock to the holders of securities of E-Class Direct.
The transaction is going to be accounted for as a purchase and is expected to close in the second quarter of this year.
After the transaction is closed, E-Class Direct employees will relocate to E.piphany’s headquarters and integrate their services as part of a comprehensive E.piphany hosted offering.
