Engage Inc., Andover, MA, announced this week it developed an enhanced specification of its TrustLabels privacy solution. The tool alerts consumers to the presence of uncertified third-party cookies on Web sites and allows them to reject the cookies based on the site’s privacy policy.
The TrustLabels technology standard allows for cookies that are used beneficially in a “privacy-safe manner,” while protecting consumers from those that violate privacy.
Engage has submitted the TrustLabels standard to the Internet Engineering Task Force and is advocating implementation of TrustLabels into Web browsers.
