Enfatico to lay off 8% of employees

Dell-focused agency Enfatico has announced that it will lay off 8% of its employees. Enfatico currently has about 1,000 employees.

A spokesman for the firm would not confirm which departments these layoffs would come from, but he did say that it would be global. Enfatico currently has offices in New York, Austin, San Francisco, London, Copenhagen, Dhaka, Miami, Toronto, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, São Paulo and Sydney.

The announcement, which was made via the Enfatico blog, attributed the layoffs to the weak global economy, which has resulted in Dell cutting spending.

“Persistent cost pressures require that we reorganize our operations to better align our business with what is happening in the global economy,” the blog read. “These changes also put us in closer alignment with Dell’s new global structure and reduced marketing spend.”

Since the agency was founded in June 2008, it has only released one campaign for Dell. The “Take your own path” campaign was launched last year in India and targets small to midsize businesses. The campaign is slated to roll out globally this year. Despite the layoffs, the agency continues to push its commitment to Dell.

“While the economic environment remains uncertain, we believe these proposed steps will strengthen our agency so that we can continue to deliver results for Dell and organize for future growth,” the blog post added.
