Manchester Technologies Inc. closed its consumer electronics web site, Marketplace4u.com, on Friday.
A message on the company’s Web site said its customer support team would continue to fulfill all open orders and answer questions, but details of the shutdown were not disclosed.
Manchester, a business-to-business computer reseller in Hauppauge, NY, does not expect any financial impact on its operations as a result of closing the four-year-old site. Personnel assigned to the site will be reassigned to other divisions within the firm.
“We plan to leverage the e-commerce principles and strategies learned from our experience with Marketplace4u by integrating those principles into our core business,” said Barry Steinberg, president/CEO of Manchester.
