EKnowledge and CK Solutions Form Alliance

EKnowledge Group Inc., Corona, CA — a company that delivers training and education programs via the Internet or on CD-ROM using streaming video — will form an alliance with CK Solutions, Salt Lake City, a company that provides consulting for electronic, automated library systems.

EKnowledge products include courses designed to help students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT and LSAT. It reviews companies' training programs and reformats them for Internet access or for a CD-ROM using streaming media.

CK Solutions' target market is K-12 school libraries. High turnover locations provide the best situation for eKnowledge to be successful, according to Kevin Mead, vice president of sales at eKnowledge. This is because eKnowledge can help train new students and teachers where a training supervisor might not have the time to train each individual.

“In the case of the applications program we're doing for CK, a lot of times it turns out to be screen-captured,” Mead said. “You're seeing a screen and you're hearing a voice. If the voice is talking you through the training, the screen is actually active and the mouse is moving on its own.”

EKnowledge relies on RealPlayer and QuickTime to run its programs over the Internet. CD-ROMs are used by companies that do not have high-speed Internet access. No name changes will result from the alliance. CK Solutions will handle the bulk of sales and marketing responsibilities.
