EHarlequin.com Gives Books Away to Attract New Viewers

Romance novel Web site eHarlequin.com yesterday announced it would give visitors that are registered at the site two free books written by Diana Palmer and Muriel Jensen.

The Toronto-based book e-tailer says the plan will increase viewership and customer loyalty.

Online viewers that submit their e-mail and home addresses and choose a password will be mailed Palmer’s “The Wedding In White” and Jensen’s “Home To You.” Christina Clifford, director of marketing at eHarlequin.com, said the books will not be available anywhere else. Clifford added that her company planned to target eHarleqin.com members with e-mail messages about the free book offer, as well as make direct mail and Internet ad pitches to general audiences.

EHarlequin.com also has recently offered Web-only, daily updated, fictional romance diaries to drive and keep viewers at www.eharlequin.com. Additionally, Palmer and Jensen will make chat room appearances at the site to promote customer and visitor loyalty.
