Electronic payment provider eFunds said that it has opened a new 200-seat call center in Bombay, India, representing an investment of $3.4 million.

The 52,000-square-foot center will provide outsourced inbound and outbound teleservices, the company said. The project represents an expansion of outsourced back-office services offered by eFunds.

With the addition of the new call center, the company now has two call centers in Bombay with a total of 1,300 employees, and the new center is expandable by an additional 200 seats.

The original Bombay call center, worth $4.5 million, is near the new one and provides telemarketing services to U.S. agency West Teleservices.
