EchoStar Pays $50,000 to Settle State DNC Complaint

EchoStar Communications, a satellite TV provider that does business as Dish Network, will pay $50,000 to settle a no-call violation complaint from the Missouri attorney general's office.

In the agreement announced yesterday, EchoStar, Littleton, CO, also agreed to cease calling Missourians on the state's no-call list. EchoStar will provide the attorney general's office with a report on compliance measures the company and its dealers have taken.

The Missouri attorney general's office filed a complaint against EchoStar in August 2003. The complaint alleged that EchoStar called at least 156 Missouri residents on the state no-call list.
