E2 Communications Acquires Infoinmotion

E2 Communications, an e-mail marketing provider, said yesterday that it bought Infoinmotion, a wireless technology firm.

E2, Dallas, would not disclose the purchase price.

Infoinmotion's development staff has been retained and integrated into e2's development operations, bringing e2's staff to about 160.

The acquisition will enable e2 to introduce wireless capabilities under its flagship e-mail marketing service, e2Mail Center, sometime in the second quarter.

The first release will allow e2 clients to deliver targeted information to their wireless application protocol enabled customers. Clients can also monitor and initiate campaigns from their wireless devices.

“Many of our clients and partners have voiced their interest in wireless, and we're very pleased to be able to accelerate our time to market with this acquisition,” said John Rosta, former vice president of development at Infoinmotion, now wireless technical director at e2 Communications.

E2 Communications clients include CNN/Sports Illustrated Interactive, Thomas Cook, JCPenney and Solomon Software.

Infoinmotion's technology adapts to phone, personal digital assistants and two-way messaging devices.
