Online digital video disc retailer, DVD Empire (www.dvdempire.com), Mars, PA, is entering the online book retailing arena with Rocket eBook. The paperback-sized electronic book designed for reading Web-distributed content was created by NuvoMedia. DVD Empire, now NuvoMedia's first exclusive online retail partner, is the second retailer to carry the Rocket eBook.
DVD Empire will sell the book for the suggested retail price of $499 beginning on March 1 at a new Web site located at www.ebookempire.com. Rocket eBook customers also will soon be able to purchase any eBook titles now available at the ebookempire.com site. The book includes a palm-sized reading device that plugs into the serial port of a PC and a CD-ROM containing the RocketLibrarian software needed to download titles to a PC by modem.
