DRTV News Briefs: Vector Buy Gets Oak Lawn an International Corner

Oak Lawn Marketing  announced the purchase of the Vector Group, which includes Vector Direct Ltd.  with operations in Britain and Ireland, and Vector Versand  with operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As a result of the acquisition, Oak Lawn, Nagoya, Japan, will now be able to provide direct access to over 60 percent of the international direct response television market.

Opfer Communications Inc. is producing a DRTV campaign for Martin Nutraceuticals Inc., Reno, NV. The Springfield, MA, company’s spot markets Dr. Anthony Martin’s upcoming book, “Medical Crisis — Secrets Your Doctor Won’t Share with You.”

Health Sciences Group Inc., Los Angeles, will begin airing a 30-minute infomercial for its Sequesterol cardiovascular health nutritional supplement. The advertisement, produced by Take 2 Direct, Irvine, CA, initially will air in test markets around the nation.

Mercury Media promoted Eitan Cohen to vice president of client services. Mr. Cohen will oversee all long form DRTV accounts. In addition, David Ratner joined the Santa Monica, CA-based company as vice president of short form. Mr. Ratner has more than 12 years of short form DRTV experience, both in traditional DRTV and the corporate and hybrid arena.
