Draftfcb hires Nielsen to lead Beiersdorf account

Draftfcb has named Rob Nielsen global executive creative director for the agency’s Beiersdorf AG account. He will join Draftfcb on Oct. 10 and report directly to Jonathan Harries, the agency’s vice chairman and global chief creative officer.

Nielsen will be responsible for overseeing the $1.5 billion Beiersdorf AG account, which Draftfcb won in November of last year. Draftfcb president and CEO Laurence Boschetto told Direct Marketing News in June that the highlight of 2010 was winning the $1.5 billion account.

Based in Draftfcb’s Hamburg office, Nielsen will work as the creative partner to Erika Darmstaedter, global business leader at Draftfcb, as well as to Gaby Bell, global planning director on the Beiersdorf AG account.

Nielsen most recently served as Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide’s regional creative director for Europe, Middle East and Africa on the agency’s Head & Shoulders account for Procter & Gamble. He has also held director positions at Leo Burnett Worldwide, McCann Erickson, JWT, Brown Brothers Harriman and BBDO.

A Draftfcb representative was not immediately available for comment.
