DraftFCB follows Wal-Mart win with NAACP business

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People tapped DraftFCB New York as its advertising agency of record for fundraising and membership.

The NAACP win comes soon after Wal-Mart Stores Inc. confirmed Interpublic Group of Companies Inc.’s DraftFCB and Aegis Group’s Carat as its agencies for handling advertising, direct mail, interactive marketing, promotions, retail and new and emerging media. That account is estimated at $570 million.

The nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization, the NAACP is aiming to reform itself into a modern organization for minorities. It wants to advocate in education, economic empowerment, healthcare, criminal justice, civic engagement, international affairs, poverty issues and other areas.

To meet its goals, the NAACP needs to tap active and potential members and donors, educating and creating awareness for the organization as it raises funds.

DraftFCB New York will work on creating direct marketing membership and fundraising programs under the tagline, “The NAACP is Today.”
