DoubleClick Teams With Radical Communications to Offer RadicalMail E-Mail

DoubleClick Inc. has entered into an agreement with interactive messaging technology supplier Radical Communications Inc. and will offer the company's RadicalMail rich media and interactive e-mail, DoubleClick said yesterday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Radical Communications, Marina Del Rey, CA, provides an interactive e-mail platform that delivers streaming audio and video directly in the body of the e-mail message. The company said its technology also allows for secure data collection within the body of the message.

Through the partnership, DoubleClick's e-mail customers will be able to assemble and deploy rich media and interactive e-mail campaigns using RadicalMail.

Separately, New York-based DoubleClick said its Diameter research division, in conjunction with comScore Networks Inc., released its first Top 20 Web sites index for March. The list is ranked by comScore's netScore Buying Power Index, which measures total dollars spent online. The index will be released monthly.

The companies said bizrate.com, a comparison shopping site, had the highest BPI of 673 in March, meaning the average visitor spends more than six-and-one-half times as much money at the site as the average Internet user does anywhere else. Rounding out the top five were Newport-news.com, with a BPI of 618; staples.com, with a BPI of 610; cartserver.com, with a BPI of 561; and necxdirect.com, with a BPI of 539.
