R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company, Chicago, yesterday completed a $1 billion debt offering to fund its purchase of The Astron Group, a United Kingdom-based print and production company.
The debt offering will fund the purchase price as well as repay the existing debts of The Astron Group. The total cost of the acquisition, which was announced April 18, is $990 million.
The Astron Group, which provides transactional print and mail services, data and print management, document production and marketing support, has more than 4,000 employees in 70 locations worldwide. It has projected revenues of $550 million in 2005.
