Doctors will be able to use Google Glass during surgeries and consultations

Google Glass – it’s not just for irritating techie showoffs anymore.

In this proof of concept video, healthcare technology firm Royal Philips partners up with tech consultancy Accenture to demonstrate how Google Glass can be a vital tool for doctors and surgeons.

The theory is that Google Glass will link up to software from Philips that will provide the doctor wearing it with patient data. The doctor can then interact with the patient hands free, either briefing them before surgery, or during it. Glass can also be connected to a patient’s vital statistics monitor giving the doctor quick access to them in the middle of a procedure.
