This year’s group of DMN 40Under40 winners have a few things in common. Well yes, they’re under 40. Also they have a proven track record of marketing excellence and leadership, whether they’re in roles supporting global brands, or leading their own thriving start-ups. Over the next few weeks, you’ll get to know our winners, and what they’ve accomplished.
Eric Berry is the Co-Founder and CEO of TripleLift
What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?
People leave companies all the time, but building a company that people want to come back to after they leave is one of my proudest career accomplishments. In the past month alone, three separate people have applied to come back.
What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40Under40 honorees?
You only hear the narratives about growth and success, but the truth is always dirtier. People fail a thousand different times before they’re successful, and even the most successful people and companies need luck as much as anything. Most of the time, success is simply hard work and luck – which are things that can happen to anyone at any time.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?
I’d like our engineering team to be 50% women.
What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?
I have practically no discernible willpower when it comes to ice cream and it almost always makes me sick.
