DMEF appoints four marketers to board

The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation added four veteran marketers to its board of trustees at a June 16 meeting in New York during the Direct Marketing Association’s Digital Marketing Days conference.

The new trustees are: Christine Aguilera, president of SkyMall, an in-flight catalog company; Warren Hunter, chairman and CEO of agency DMW Direct; Wesley Protheroe, president and CEO of Gerber Life Insurance Company and former CMO at Great American Insurance; and Jerry Shereshewsky, chief grown-up at GrownUpMarketing, an agency focused on reaching Baby Boomers.

“It is truly inspiring to work alongside all these dedicated individuals as we continue to strengthen and fulfill the foundation’s mission to significantly impact the future of this exciting profession,” said a statement by DMEF chairman Gary Laben, CEO and president of KnowledgeBase Marketing.

The DMEF is a non-profit independent offshoot of the Direct Marketing Association that develops programs to increase the talent pool in the direct and interactive marketing industry. The board of trustees consists of 40 marketers and academics, charged with implementing programs to attract college students to the industry.

“The dynamic relationship between the DMEF staff and trustees is critical to our success,” said Terri Bartlett, DMEF president.  “The truth is that the whole community benefits.”
