DMDNY Gives $350,000 in Grants, Scholarships

Direct Marketing Days in New York announced this week that it will award $350,000 this year in grants and scholarships. The 1998 contribution brings its total to $3.1 million over the 33 years of the conference.

New York University is the largest beneficiary, with five undergraduate marketing scholarships being awarded through the Charles K. Cavanagh Memorial Fund. Baruch College, Keuka College and the Direct Marketing Club of New York also will receive educational grants as will two regional DM conferences for college students.

Don Peppers and Martha Rogers, the 1998 Direct Marketers of the Year, divided their $10,000 award between Indiana University's Kelly School of Business and Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.

NYC Industries for the Blind Inc. also received a special award to train vision impaired people in lettershop and DM fulfillment functions.
