DMA UK Launches Best Practices Awards

The Direct Marketing Association (UK) Ltd. has launched the DMA Excellence 2004 awards to honor best practices, the group announced yesterday.

The closing date for entries is Feb. 27.

“The aim of these awards is to encourage the spread of best practice across the industry and alert the wider business community to the high standards expected and achieved by direct marketers,” said Rita Courtney, best practice manager, DMA UK.

The awards are divided into three categories: people development, customer service and innovation. The winner of each category will receive a specially commissioned glass trophy, and the overall winner will take home the Premier award.

The awards are sponsored by Pharos International, 2Touch and Kellysearch and supported by Fit for the Future, which is the national best practice campaign led by the Confederation of British Industry and supported by the Department of Trade and Industry in the United Kingdom.

The awards presentation ball is April 29 at the Radisson Hotel, Portman Square, London. Tickets are available beginning March 15. For further information about the awards, visit www.dma.org.uk/excellence.
