DMA to Hold CAN-SPAM Briefings

The Direct Marketing Association plans information seminars next month in four cities to discuss the CAN-SPAM Act's new requirements for commercial e-mailers, the group said.

The briefings will cover compliance requirements and possible future threats to e-mail marketing, including the do-not-e-mail registry. In addition to DMA executives, speakers include representatives from the Association for Interactive Marketing, Internet Alliance, law firm Piper Rudnick LLP and the Federal Trade Commission.

The first meeting is Feb. 3 in New York City at the DMA's seminar center. The other locations are Washington (Feb. 4), San Francisco (Feb. 10) and Chicago (Feb. 11). The seminars cost $149 for DMA members and $299 for others. More information is available at the DMA Web site, www.the-dma.org.
