A resignation at the Direct Marketing Association has led to a restructuring of several departments.
Frank Rigano, executive vice president of operations and administration, resigned earlier this week, but his position won't be filled, DMA spokeswoman Christina Duffney said yesterday. Rigano's last day is Aug. 23. Among the changes:
· Dave Smith, vice president of business and strategic development, has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and business development.
“While Dave will continue to be responsible for the development of our new BTB initiatives, he will also assume various marketing and product development responsibilities,” Duffney said.
· Lesa Semaya will head a new marketing unit and will report to Smith. Initially, she will be responsible for all conferences, councils, membership and information products marketing, Duffney said.
· Anne Schaeffer will assume responsibilities for the DMA's councils, taking the title senior vice president of professional development and training and councils.
· Michael Faulkner will become senior vice president of segments and affiliates, being responsible for segment programs aimed at meeting the needs of the DMA's major member segments: Internet, nonprofit, information industry, catalog and BTB. There will be no change in the reporting relationship for AIM, IA or the Nonprofit Federation, Duffney said.
· Michael Turner will head a new strategic information department, which will produce information products and services focused on meeting the business needs of the DMA's members.
