DMA Plans Update on Telemarketing Rules

The Direct Marketing Association's Teleservices Council holds the second in a series of teleconferences on telemarketing regulatory changes next month, the council said yesterday.

The teleconference will be held 1 p.m. May 8. Joan Mullen, vice president of industry relations for Ron Weber and Associates and member of the council's operating committee, will give an update on federal regulations. Anne Darr and Dan Smith of the law firm De Hart & Darr will provide information about new state regulations affecting teleservices.

John Crouthamel, the council's operating committee chairman and chief operating officer for call center technology firm Prosodie Interactive, will deliver a talk on predictive dialers in light of new federal regulations. Craig Wyeth, the council's education chair and director of global marketing for The Reader's Digest Association, will moderate the teleconference.

The council held its first regulatory compliance teleconference March 18.
