The Direct Marketing Association is looking for individuals from its member companies to serve on an Environmental Advisory Committee, the association said yesterday.
The committee, which will make recommendations to the DMA Board of Directors, will be made up of individuals with expertise in corporate sustainability, environmental affairs, paper, production and related areas.
DMA members interested in serving on this committee should contact Robyn Brown at r[email protected] by the end of October.
The DMA also announced that it will host an Environmental Resource Center in the Exhibit Hall at The DMA 86th Annual Conference & Exhibition, which takes place Oct. 11-15 in Orlando, FL.
Located in Booth 1334, the center will include literature to help marketers operate their businesses in a more environmentally friendly manner. Representatives from DMA member companies and environmental organizations will staff the booth.
Representatives from Citigroup, Norm Thompson Outfitters, Under the Canopy and the Alliance for Environmental Innovation will be available to discuss success stories in the use of recycled paper in office operations and marketing materials, eco-friendly marketing and partnership opportunities.
Additional resources, such as information about making environmental claims on marketing mail and developing recycling programs, will be available from the U.S. Postal Service, American Forest & Paper Association and others.
