The Direct Marketing Association List & Database Council yesterday said it named Donn Rappaport as List Leader of the Year. Rappaport, president/CEO of the American List Counsel, will receive the award at a reception at the DMA’s List Vision ’99 conference on Aug. 10 at the 200 Fifth Club in New York. The conference will be held at the Hilton New York & Towers.
Rappaport has 20 years of experience in the list marketing business and is a frequent speaker and writer on direct marketing. He authored the DMA List Leaders’ Basic Training Program, a one-day workshop for professionals new to the list business, and is past chairman of the DMA List Day, now called List Vision. He serves on the DMA Board of Directors Nominating Committee and the and the Environmental Task Force, and was a contributing author of the DMA’s Environmental Resources for Direct Marketing.
The List Leader of the Year Award is given each year to an individual who has a minimum of 10 years of experience in the list community and is active in at least one of the following areas: ethics, education, list practices and standards, privacy issues, postal reform, communication or environmental concerns.
