Convergys will continue to provide customer service to 11.5 million DirecTV satellite customers through the end of 2006 under a contract renewal deal announced yesterday.
Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed. Convergys, Cincinnati, has provided customer service for DirecTV since June 1994, and its current contract was scheduled to expire at the end of this year.
Convergys provides customer management for DirecTV as well as customer satisfaction monitoring. DirecTV may add other technology services, including advanced speech recognition and interactive alerts, in the future, Convergys said.
About 4,500 Convergys inbound agents, called “entertainment consultants,” are dedicated to the DirecTV contract, working at several locations, Convergys said.
