DirecTV Broadband Inc., Cupertino, CA, plans to launch direct mail and e-mail campaigns in support of an extensive radio and television push in the coming weeks.
The volume of mail and e-mail was not disclosed in the announcement.
Developed by the Los Angeles unit of advertising agency Deutsch, the overall campaign will focus on the high speed of broadband connections and a three-month introductory offer of DirecTV's Internet access service for $19.99.
The campaign also touts the advantages for shopping online compared with slower connections.
Hughes Electronics Corp., the parent firm of satellite television firm DirecTV Inc., acquired the DirecTV Broadband unit from Telocity in April.
