Direct Tech Program Lowers Postage Costs, Boosts Mailing Results

Participants in the RFMplus cooperative database of recent mail-order buyers can lower their postage costs and improve mailing results through the expansion of Direct Marketing Technology’s Add-A-Name program.

Under the new program, participants can use the RFMplus weekly database of 60-day hotline names to fill carrier routes requiring additional names to qualify for extra postage discounts. Mailers can profit from adding from one to three names per carrier route.

Add-A-Name is performed on the fly during the postal presort process and requires no increase in schedule. Discounts range from $2,500 to $6,000 on each individual mailing and delivery is improved.

Add-A-Name will work for customers needing specific name counts or as a source for additional names when counts have fallen short, according to George Kiebala, vice president of Direct Tech, Schaumburg, IL.

“It’s something our customers have been asking for,” Kiebala said. “By adapting Direct Tech’s Add-A-Name program to include RFMplus names, we’ve given our RFMplus customers the ability to increase postage discounts without compromising the performance of their mailing.”

Add-A-Name also is available using names from Direct Tech’s Z-24 database of 24-month catalog buyers. Costs are $80/M for RFMplus names and $60/M for Z-24 names. RFMplus is operated by Direct Tech in alliance with the Millard Group, Peterborough, NH, OrderTrust (formerly LitleNet LLC), Lowell, MA, and Mokrynski & Associates, Hackensack, NJ.
