Your conference preview special section of DMD New York was great . I’m sure it helped traffic and eased the flow through the many Hilton meeting rooms. However, the Michael Bush reportage was inaccurate and confusing.
The Direct Marketing Day Foundation Inc., the correct name, is not a “branch” of DMD Conferences LLC.
DMDF is an independent continuation of the original corporation whose primary purpose was and still is the giving of educational grants, scholarships and projects. Lee Epstein, a founder of the original DMDNY, continues as chairman of the foundation, supported by a newly selected board of industry leaders and educators. This is all a result of the January spinoff of DMD Conferences, headed by Chuck Cavanagh, Arthur Blumenfield, Thomas Turner and other board members.
Our foundation has just concluded its first grant program. There are other interesting projects being worked on. We’ll be sure to let you know about them for your readers. We count on DM News and other trade journals to keep all in the industry informed. We’ll try to be part of that with you.
