Digital Printing Business to Grow Via iGen3 110 Machine, Says Modern International

Modern International Graphics Inc. expects its digital printing business to grow from 5 percent to 20 percent of its overall print volume within the next two years thanks to its use of a Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press and the Xerox Nuvera 120 Digital Production System, the company said.

Acquiring the iGen3 was part of a business decision to continue to diversify the company’s services to become an integral part of its clients’ business.

Modern International expects to be able to offer customers a better return on investment, including higher response rates on direct mail campaigns thanks to the iGen3. This is because the digital color press has simplified operations due to its flexibility and it makes short print runs more economical than offset.

For example, Modern International, Eastlake, OH, is now printing 100 pieces for each of 40 prototype packaging designs on rigid, 18-point coated stock for a cosmetics client. The iGen3 enables Modern International to cost effectively produce the job in short runs and allow the client to test the prototypes before a major promotional rollout.

The company hopes to expand into new vertical markets in the near future such as legal marketing.
