DHL Signs New Contract with Market Leader in Medical Devices

DHL announced yesterday a new three-year contract with Stryker Orthopaedics, a leading developer of orthopedic products and services. The new contract calls for the transport of all Stryker Orthopaedics’ medical devices from Europe to the United States using DHL Import Express, an all-inclusive service for expediting imports to the United States and between third countries.

Stryker Orthopaedics is a market leader in this rapidly growing industry, and has the top selling products in a large number of the sub-categories within the business. At company-owned plants in France, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland, Stryker Orthopaedics manufactures a variety of medical devices, which it sells and distributes to hospitals and doctors across the world.

Stryker Orthopaedics chose DHL as its exclusive carrier because of its ability to promptly deliver critical shipments from Stryker manufacturing plants overseas to its distribution center in Mahwah, NJ.

With its 48-hour Import-Express service, the Plantation, FL-based DHL takes complete responsibility from pickup to delivery, all for one pre-quoted transportation charge. Once the shipment is under way, easy track and trace is available from pickup through final delivery. The customer receives one invoice per billing cycle in the customer's currency, allowing DHL Import Express customers to easily budget for and audit all import shipments.

To utilize DHL Import Express, customers need only to establish an Import Express account number, which provides all routing order instructions.
