DHL Boosts Capacity on Hong Kong-Shanghai Service

DHL bolstered its uplift capacity on its Hong Kong-Shanghai segment by 35 percent in response to the growth in demand for express services in Asia, the express delivery and logistics company said this week.

The five-times weekly Hong Kong-Shanghai service previously was operated by a Dragonair A300B4, which in mid-June was replaced by a Cathay Pacific-operated service with an Air Hong Kong Airbus A300-600F. The freighter boosts payload capacity almost 35 percent.

DHL, Plantation, FL, last upgraded payload capacity on this route in June 2004, 12 months after the service launched, in response to increasing demand and surging intra-Asia shipment volumes.
