DHL and Zac Posen partner for TeachersCount campaign

DHL, a global express delivery and logistics company, and New York-based fashion designer Zac Posen have partnered to raise money and awareness for TeachersCount, a national nonprofit that supports teachers.

The theme of the campaign is “Tote for Teachers.”

Posen has designed a limited-edition leather tote bag, with DHL underwriting the production of the Italian-made accessory. Posen and DHL kick off the campaign this week in New York.

Calls to DHL were not returned in time for press time.

For each bag sold, DHL will donate all proceeds to TeachersCount, and will provide complimentary DHL ground delivery for each purchase. Priced at $400, the bag will be sold exclusively online at www.toteforteachers.org.

The Tote for Teachers campaign will also include a print public service announcement (PSA) featuring Posen and Jane Avrich, his high school English Literature teacher. The PSA is the latest in TeachersCount’s “Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher” series.

In addition to the “Tote for Teachers” partnership, DHL is also Posen’s exclusive shipping and logistics provider.

This is not the first time DHL and Posen have worked together. Earlier this year, DHL delivered Posen’s intricate Fall 2007 Back Winged Gown cross country to FashionWeekLive events in Houston and San Francisco.

DHL’s partnership with Posen and TeachersCount is the latest initiative in its multi-platform program to serve the unique needs of the fashion, apparel and retail industries.
