Deutsch, Rush Introduce dRUSH

Donny Deutsch, chairman/CEO of $1 billion advertising agency Deutsch Inc., New York, and Russell Simmons, chairman/CEO of Rush Communications, the second largest African-American entertainment company in the United States, have launched dRUSH, a youth culture advertising and marketing agency.

Anne Simmons (unrelated), who with Russell Simmons co-founded the Rush Communications’ agency and media buying service Rush Media, will act as president of dRUSH.

“We plan to build a team of smart professionals – people who are not only in tune with tomorrow’s trends today but who also have the strategic expertise to create successful, integrated marketing campaigns that translate to sales by pioneering such innovative tactics as street teams,” said Anne Simmons. “We will also bring our clients’ brands to life with an approach that extends beyond the 30-second television spot by projecting big ideas that sell to a broad audience.”

Coca-Cola Co. and HBO will lead the new agency’s client list.
