Delia’s posts Q4, year-end gains

Delia’s Inc., a multichannel merchant of apparel, accessories, room furnishings and sports equipment to teenagers through its Delia’s, Alloy and CCS brands, said revenue increased 14 percent for the fourth quarter ended Feb. 3 for a total of $78.4 million.

Same-store sales increased 5 percent. Net sales for the direct segment also rose 5 percent to $60.8 million.

The New York-based company also said net income from continuing operations increased 41 percent for the quarter to $6.8 million, or 21 cents per diluted share, compared to last year’s $4.9 million, or 17 cents per diluted share.

For the fiscal year ended Feb. 3, revenue increased 14 percent for a total of $257.6 million. Same-store sales decreased 2 percent during the same period. Net sales for the direct segment increased 10 percent to $173.5 million.

Delia‘s net income for the fiscal year totaled $5.8 million, or 18 cents per fully diluted share, compared to a loss from continuing operations of $0.7 million, or 3 cents per fully diluted share, last year.
