DeepCanyon.com Takes a Dive

DeepCanyon.com sent out an e-mail to its customers on Sept. 29 announcing that it will “discontinue” its services on Oct. 5. The reason it is whitewashing its site is “we’ve been unable to secure a second round of financing,” the message explained.

DeepCanyon.com was Hewlett-Packard’s online store for technology intelligence

firms to sell their research reports to small and mid-sized businesses. The idea was that marketers would come to this one destination to research their marketing strategies and business plans.

Revenue was generated through research report sales from companies like the Dun & Bradstreet, Forrester Research, Inc. and the Yankee Group as well as through online advertising, sponsorships and revenue-sharing partnerships.

The message assured customers that its customer service representatives would available until Oct. 15 to take care of any final business.
