D&B, Acxiom Expand Data-Sharing Agreement

Acxiom Corp. and Dun & Bradstreet have expanded a 1999 agreement in which Acxiom used marketing information from D&B's business databases with its own data, the two companies said yesterday.

The 1999 agreement also let D&B expand its database by including Acxiom's data on small businesses and use Acxiom's consumer data and data-linkage technologies.

Terms of the expanded agreement include:

• Acxiom's AbiliTec Customer Data Integration software now will deliver D&B D-U-N-S Numbers directly from this platform. The D&B D-U-N-S Number is a unique, nine-digit identification sequence that provides identifiers of single business entities, while linking corporate structures.

• D&B will sell Acxiom's AbiliTec software to its global business marketing information clients.

• Acxiom will provide D&B global business information as part of its AbiliTec-driven CDI solution.

• D&B will sell Acxiom's InfoBase consumer data products globally. Acxiom will sell D&B's business marketing data products globally.

The companies said a key part of the alliance involves the ability to deliver the D&B D-U-N-S Number through AbiliTec. This, they said, will let customers identify and market to businesses at the most granular level — at their multiple and most remote business sites.
