DataFlux Earns CASS Certification from U.S. Postal Service

DataFlux Corp., a developer of data quality and integration software, announced yesterday that its Blue Fusion Verify software has been CASS-Coding Accuracy Support System-enhanced by the U.S. Postal Service

The USPS offers CASS certification as a way to ensure that companies are using data quality software programs that can correct, match, and verify addresses to USPS standards. CASS certification provides corrected and verified addresses and augmented geographic information to add value to corporate databases. Companies that use CASS-certified software programs are also eligible to receive significant postal discounts in bulk mailings.

“CASS certification gives users of DataFlux technology another way to increase database consistency and reduce costs,” said Scott Gidley, senior director, research and development, DataFlux, Cary, NC.

DataFlux’s Blue Fusion Verify software enables organizations to embed data quality methodology, data redundancy prevention, data augmentation, and advanced searching and matching capabilities into commercial applications. It was designed to provide a standardized address based on the USPS standards; to append ZIP+4, delivery point bar codes and carrier routes as well as additional data; and to generate the USPS’ forms for CASS mailing discounts. The technology also corrects spelling errors, invalid addresses, invalid city and state, invalid ZIP codes, and invalid firm/company names.

According to DataFlux, benefits of the software include: improvement of mail delivery, which reduces the costs and delays associated with incorrect addresses and undeliverable mail; generation of verified, standardized addresses that qualify for USPS postage discounts; and increased value of customer data, ensuring better analysis and reporting.
