Database Pros Start Data University

ORLANDO, FL — Two longtime database marketers said yesterday that they have formed Data University, a training and consulting group that will deliver practical, real-world training through live seminars at client locations as well as online modules.

Data University founders Jim Wheaton, principal of Wheaton Consulting Group, and Mark Graham, president of eNtelligy Marketing Inc., made the announcement at the National Center for Database Marketing conference here.

Wheaton and Graham formulated a three-step program combining on-site analysis and training by consultants to conduct twice-monthly Webinars that will be available live on scheduled days and recorded for viewing anytime. It will include hands-on advice and consulting by Data University faculty.

Thirty database marketing experts have signed on as faculty members.

“Our seasoned professionals will transfer their industry knowledge and expertise to our registered participants so they can best understand how to use the data to accomplish their marketing and sales objectives,” said Graham, who also is chairman of the Direct Marketing Association Research Council.

Data University's online repository will be available to registered participants and individual subscribers. Graham said costs will be about $600 a month, and Data University will offer two-year subscriptions. Data University begins producing Webinars and streaming media training modules early next year.
