Acxiom invests in Canada
Acxiom Corp. is investing in the Canadian marketplace to support new and existing clients’ customer information management initiatives.
Acxiom said Canada offers opportunities for the company. Many of its traditional U.S.-based clients are expanding into the Canadian market, and a rapidly growing number of Canadian companies recognize the potential of using data and business intelligence as strategic assets.
Acxiom’s first step was opening a data center in the Toronto area Oct. 31. The center lets Acxiom, Little Rock, AR, provide all its services, including data hygiene, data integration and database management. The center was established to address clients’ desire to house customer information for marketing programs within Canada. The company already has clients ready to be served from the new facility.
To oversee its growth in Canada, Acxiom hired Kevin Klein of Toronto. Mr. Klein brings more than 10 years of direct mail and database marketing expertise to Acxiom. Acxiom also will establish a Canadian headquarters office early in 2007 and is hiring employees to staff the data center.
