Data Warehousing Survey Cites Oracle

Customer relationship management vendor Oracle Corp., Redwood Shores, CA, was named the leader in providing customer intelligence through a combination of CRM and data warehousing software in The Data Warehousing Institute's survey on CRM.

To complete the industrywide study, the institute asked 1,670 respondents to name their most commonly used vendor in various categories. Oracle received top ranking in three categories: applications, such as sales, service and marketing; databases; and data warehousing tools, such as extraction, transformation, loading and data marts.

In the analytical tools category, the only area in which it did not take the top spot, Oracle ranked second to Cognos.

In the databases category, the study found that Oracle databases are being used in more than half of all CRM projects, more than twice as many as the nearest database competitor.

The study's title is “Harnessing Customer Information for Strategic Advantage: Technical Challenges and Business Solutions.”
