Crossvue Inc. next month is expected to announce upgrades to its eReceipts service, which allows retailers to analyze sales for future promotions.
The Web-based service extracts information from paper and e-mail receipts and organizes it into several template reports. Users next month will be able to tailor the reports to fit their marketing needs.
Features also will be added that allow retailers to track theft and fraud, said Scott Allan, vice president of marketing and alliance management at Crossvue, San Jose, CA.
“Fraud and theft are real problems for retailers right now,” he said, “especially with the current economy where everyone is trying to maximize profits.”
EReceipts was designed to let marketers perform functions including integrating Web/bricks-and-mortar store customer databases, segmenting audiences according to purchase history, interpreting sales trends, establishing cross-sell techniques and analyzing creative aspects of campaigns.
“It keeps score of which promotions are effective and which aren't,” Allan said.
Users can organize reports according to how frequently or recently customers make purchases as well as by their average order sizes. The reports can include charts and be received daily. The information also can be downloaded into a Microsoft Excel file.
