CRM Vendor Offers Product Free to Nonprofits

Salesforce.com, an online customer relationship management application provider, said it will let qualifying nonprofits use its service for free. The Web-based application for nonprofits was designed to help organizations manage donor constituents such as membership, donor, volunteer and program participant information, the firm said.

To qualify, a nonprofit must be registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501c3 charity or outside the United States as a nongovernmental organization. For more information, nonprofits can visit www.salesforce.com or call 811/NO-SOFTWARE.

The program is an initiative of salesforce.com/foundation, an offshoot of salesforce.com. The foundation began in July 2000 and donates 1 percent of its parent company's profits to charity annually.
