CRM Briefs: Business Objects Announces New Products and Services

Business Objects today debuted new products, services and announced partnerships for enterprise information management and enterprise information integration.

EIM provides customers with a strategy to help them assure their information is accurate and current. EII is an integration technology that pulls and combines data from multiple systems in real time, creating a virtual data warehouse.

The company announced the general availability of BusinessObjects Data Federator for EII. It provides customers with a virtual, real-time view of data sources.

Business Objects also introduced new EIM Global Services to help customers evaluate current information management challenges, develop a customized EIM strategy and create best practices.

Business Objects also will extend EIM solutions globally in cooperation with partner technologies and services and the company introduced BusinessObjects Metadata Manager, which gives administrators complete visibility into all metadata so they can view, analyze, and explore metadata relationships and business rules.

On April 3, Business Objects finalized the acquisition of Firstlogic, a market leader in data quality software and services. Data quality is critical for a comprehensive EIM strategy. Business Objects will continue to deliver data quality products for name parsing, address enhancement and consolidation as part of the data integration platform. Additionally, Business Objects now provides standalone data quality and data assessment solutions to profile, cleanse, and monitor data.

Alliance Data Signs Renewal Agreement With Abercrombie & Fitch

Alliance Data Systems Corp. said last week that it signed a multi-year renewal agreement to continue providing private label credit card services for clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch.

Abercrombie & Fitch is a multi-channel retailer with 2005 sales of $2.7 billion. It sells clothing at 361 store locations nationwide, online and a quarterly catalog.

Dallas-based Alliance Data will continue providing Abercrombie & Fitch with private label credit card services including account acquisition and activation; receivables funding; card authorization; private label credit card issuance; statement generation; remittance processing; customer service functions; and marketing services. Abercrombie & Fitch has been a client of Alliance Data since Alliance Data’s inception in 1996.
