Courtenay Communications, publisher of DM News and Dmnews.com, filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court last week against DMD Conferences LLC, its chairman, L. William Black, and its equity owners, citing breach of contract, fraud, negligent misrepresentation and other causes of action regarding a proposed sale of the DM Days in New York Conference to Courtenay Communications. The suit asks for $5 million in damages. The other defendants named in the lawsuit are Charles M. Cavanagh, Fred Tarter, Thomas J. Turner and Arthur Blumenfield.
